All Surface Antimicrobial SHIELD is a uniquely durable and effective antimicrobial surface coating, and mold, mildew, fungi, algae, and odor inhibitor. Ideal for maintaining Antimicrobial Control, SHIELD is approved for use on all types of HVAC component and air duct surfaces , including surfaces that normally become wet during system operation, such as evaporator coils, uninsulated piping, condensate drain pans, drain lines, silicone caulks, mist eliminators, cabinet housings and others that are subject to wetting by mist or water carryover.

Unlike typical disinfectants, sanitizers and other antimicrobial products that kill or inhibit the growth of microorganisms that are present on surfaces at the time of their application, and then quickly evaporate, SHIELD coats surfaces with an invisible microbiostatic barrier that inhibits the growth of microorganisms and helps prevent the growth and spread of bacteria for up to 3 Months.

SHIELD also helps achieve and maintain optimal Indoor Air Quality by keeping treated surfaces clean, while preventing microbiologically induced corrosion, and controlling and halting the return of microbial odors.

Ready-to-use right out of the bottle, SHIELD’s one-step, “Spray and Walk-Away” formula makes applications simple, while its colorless, odorless, non-staining, non-fuming, water-based chemistry helps ensure that cleaning up is a breeze. It also dries fast, leaves no odors or sticky residue, is non-abrasive, non-corrosive, harmless to HVAC system component surfaces … and a single application lasts and remains antimicrobially effective for up to 3 months.

And like all PermaSafe HVAC Solutions products, SHIELD is EPA rated “Category IV” for toxicity, the very lowest toxicity rating any antimicrobial product can be awarded, and one means no gloves, masks or other personal protection equipment are necessary when applying it, no rinsing is required after it’s applied, and no Precautionary Statements or Hazard Warnings are required on its labels.

Directions for Use

PRODUCT APPLICATION DEVICE REQUIREMENTS: This product is not packaged in a dispensing container, and must be applied with a separate application device. Approved application devices include fine mist spray bottles, other manual compression and pump sprayers, and electric foggers and sprayers. View our Product Applicator Options.

All surfaces should be clean prior to product application.

FOR APPLICATION WITH COMMERCIAL SPRAYERS AND FOGGERS: For commercial application equipment (i.e. compression sprayers, pump sprayers, or electric foggers), apply product to target surfaces by spraying or fogging 6” - 12” from surface, making sure surface is completely covered. Let stand until dry, or let stand for 3 minutes and wipe dry with clean cloth or sponge.

FOR APPLICATION WITH PUMP SPRAY BOTTLE: Using spray bottle, apply product to target surfaces by spraying 4” - 6” from surface, making sure surface is completely covered. Apply and then let stand until dry, or let stand for 3 minutes and wipe dry with clean cloth or sponge.

Frequency of Application

Reapply SHIELD every 3 months to replenish antimicrobial barrier, or as necessary due to the return of mold, mildew, algae, fungi or other microbial growth, staining / discoloration or odors.
